Why another downloader
Because the ones you've tried are minefields: pop-ups, fake download buttons, redirects to ad networks, and a page that takes ten seconds to load on a phone. PluckVid is the opposite bet — one fast page, one honest box, results in seconds, and legal pages that a real company stands behind.
Under the hood it's simple: your link is normalized (tracking junk removed, shortlinks resolved), matched to a platform, and handed to an extraction service that fetches the media files from the platform's own CDN. You stream the file once through a temporary link. We never store it.
There's one boundary we hold absolutely: public content only. Tools that promise private downloads are harvesting logins or lying. We wrote up why we don't build a private downloader instead.
